Care Instructions

• Hand wash or gentle machine wash in cold water using a mild pet safe detergent to protect the waterproof outer fabric.
• Do not use bleach, harsh detergents, or fabric softeners as these may degrade the waterproof and wind-resistant layers.
• Close the military-grade velcro fully before washing to prevent it from snagging other fabrics or the coat itself.
• Air dry flat in a well ventilated space away from direct heat or sunlight to preserve the coat's shape and layers.
• Do not tumble dry as high heat may damage the waterproof coating, wind-resistant layer, or reflective strip stitching.
• Inspect the velcro, reflective strip, integrated Wrap® system, and all stitching before each use for signs of wear.
• Store folded in a cool dry place between uses to maintain waterproof performance and overall structural integrity.

Step 1 — Measure Your Dog First

• Measure your dog's neck circumference and back length using a soft flexible tape measure before selecting a size.
• Use the size chart to confirm the correct fit across Teacup, X-Small, Small, Medium, Medium Long, Large, X-Large, 2x-Large, 3x-Large, and 4x-Large.
• Note that Teacup to Medium sizes include the integrated Wrap® harness, so no separate harness is needed for those sizes.

Step 2 — Prepare the Coat

• Open the military-grade velcro closures fully before placing the coat on your dog to make fitting easy and smooth.
• Lay the coat flat and identify the neck opening, reflective strip, velcro panels, and integrated Wrap® position if applicable.
• Let your dog sniff and inspect the coat calmly before fitting begins to build a positive and relaxed association.

Step 3 — Fit the Coat

• With your dog standing calmly, slip the neck opening gently over the head and position it at the base of the neck.
• Guide the coat along the back so the reflective strip runs straight down the spine from neck to tail.
• Wrap the underside panels around the belly and chest area ensuring no fabric is bunching or twisted at any point.
• Press the velcro panels together firmly from the chest toward the belly for an even and secure closure.

Step 4 — Adjust for Proper Fit

• Adjust the velcro closures evenly so the coat sits centred and balanced without pulling to either side.
• Two finger rule: slide two fingers under any panel or strap comfortably but with firm and even resistance throughout.
• Check that no fabric is pressing under the armpits, behind the elbows, or rubbing along the spine or neck.
• Allow your dog to walk and turn naturally to confirm the counterbalanced design moves freely with the body.

Step 5 — For Teacup to Medium (Integrated Wrap® Harness)

• Confirm the integrated Wrap® harness panels are correctly positioned around the chest and belly after fitting the coat.
• The Wrap® system acts as the harness so no additional harness is required for Teacup to Medium sized dogs.
• Clip your leash directly to the integrated D-ring connection point for safe, balanced control during walks and training.

Step 6 — For Large to 4x-Large (Separate Harness)

• For sizes Large and above, fit your chosen dog harness underneath the coat before putting the Vitesse® on top.
• Ensure the harness D-ring is accessible through or above the coat before clipping the leash for walks.
• Perform a final pull test on both the coat and harness before heading out to confirm everything is fully secure.
