Step 1 — Measure Your Dog First

• Measure your dog's chest girth, neck circumference, and back length using a soft flexible tape measure.
• Use the size chart to confirm the correct fit across X-Small, Small, Medium, Medium Long, Large, X-Large, 2x-Large, 3x-Large, and 4x-Large.
• Always prioritise chest girth as the primary measurement for the most accurate sizing result.

Step 2 — Fit the Harness Underneath First

• Always fit your dog's harness before putting the rain coat on so the D-ring port lines up correctly during wear.
• Confirm the harness is fully adjusted, secured, and centred before layering the Tru-Fit 2® coat on top.
• Ensure the harness D-ring is positioned on the back before placing the coat over it for clean leash access.

Step 3 — Attach the Hood if Needed

• In heavy rain or cold wind, attach the removable hood to the coat neck before fitting the coat on your dog.
• In mild or dry conditions, remove the hood and store it separately to keep the coat lightweight and streamlined.

Step 4 — Put On the Rain Coat

• With your dog standing calmly, slide the coat over the back from neck to tail without requiring leg lifting at any point.
• Position the coat so the D-ring port aligns with the harness D-ring underneath for unobstructed leash access.
• Guide the drawstring mesh collar gently around the neck and adjust loosely to block water without pressing on the throat.

Step 5 — Secure and Adjust

• Fasten all closures and straps evenly from the chest toward the belly for the most balanced and secure fit.
• Adjust all straps until the coat feels secure, centred, and not pulling to either side of the body.
• Two finger rule: slide two fingers under any strap or panel comfortably but with firm and even resistance throughout.
• Fasten the tail hold button at the rear of the coat to secure coverage and prevent the coat lifting in wind or heavy rain.

Step 6 — Attach Leash and Go

• Feed the leash clip through the D-ring port on the coat and clip directly to the harness D-ring underneath.
• Never clip the leash to the coat itself as it is designed for weather protection only and not for leash tension.
• Allow your dog to walk and turn naturally to confirm full freedom of movement before heading out into the rain.
• Perform a final check on all fastenings, the hood, and the tail hold button before stepping outside in wet conditions.
